At this URL, you can see a screenshot of two gkrellm monitors.  The
one on the left (host jetbumper) is running X11 remotely.  It's
showing ~12Kbytes/second network traffic.  The one on the right (host
backup) is using gkrellmd.  It's showing about 1/10th as much traffic.

Either monitor uses a trivial fraction of a LAN's bandwidth, but
across a WAN, I'd definitely want to use gkrellmd.
