AFAIK, the DS won't turn it's WiFi until you start up a game and go into Multiplayer mode (otherwise it'd be a waste of battery). I doubt there will be any firmware upgrades for the DS - risking a chance to brick end-users' DSes just to upgrade the wifi capabilities probably doesn't appeal to Nintendo. Which sucks (I have one and I'm stuck with WEP + MAC addy filtering).
Nice that the Wii updates itself though... - Jason > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Monday, January 08, 2007 5:03 PM > To: Eugene Unix and Gnu/Linux User Group > Subject: Re: [Eug-lug] WPA with WEP? > > Well I got a Wii .. and it found my network with WPA2 no > problemo.. if thats any consolation it seems they are catching up. > > The first thing the Wii did was check and upgrade its > firmware .. maybe if you just got the DS on long enough to > update itself it would then do WPA ? > > Mark > > Rob Hudson wrote: > > I thought about a 2nd wireless router that did WEP but > wouldn't it be > > over the same frequency?
