Winter is Eugene is ALWAYS cold and dreary. That's never stopped us before. I don't like the virtual meeting idea...IRC is no substitute for face-to-face sociabilitiy, and if somebody brings their computer problem to a virtual meeting, you can't look over their shoulder while they show you the problem happening. >and maybe we could add a conference call with something like >http://www.foonz.com/index.php >or >skype for linux >or >set up a SIP conference call (we've got enough brainpower in the group >that a bunch of us could tiger team the asterisk set up) and a SIP >phone is fairly easy to set up. SIP only makes sense for people with broadband access--those of us still on dialup are out of luck. And it makes no sense at all in the context of the original question--no matter how easy it is to set up, we can't get us all wired up for it by tomorrow evening. So let me reiterate the question: Where and when are we meeting this Thursday? If we don't have an answer on official meeting places by Thursday morning, and if the roads aren't icy, I vote for an informal meeting at some restaurant. If the roads ARE icy, we should probably postpone until next week. - Neil (Mr. Nag strikes again) Parker (P.S. I apologize for pooping your SIP phone party, but our group has an exceptionally poor record on projects like that...if history is any indication, a few people will sound highly interested for a couple of weeks, and that's the last anybody will ever hear of it.) _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
