How about the WNIT for instance messing up parking depending on how the Ducks do?

I have never had any trouble parking near the Spot.
Now, I could conceivably be the world's luckiest driver, but last week several folks managed to park even closer than I did.

In the event that I didn't find a parking space on the side roads adjacent to the spot, it would be a simple matter to park in the aforementioned garage and walk the block and a half or so.

Naturally, if your needs are such that you cannot walk a block and a half, then yes, the Spot will probably be very inconvenient for you. As well, if you are carrying a PC/monitor, then it would be less than optimum a location. In that instance, the best course would simply be to double-park, unload your equipment, and then park your vehicle.

The Spot has many advantages, and only a few disadvantages. In the absence of other, credible alternatives, I suggest that we continue using it.

This entire discussion becomes moot if the successor to our current benefactor is not as welcoming.
