Thanks John. I've been doing some work with siteground.com
and have been pleased... there is some funky fine-print that really
annoyed me, about IMAP box limitations, and the storage limits
have a detailed breakdown by content type, but it works really well
and although they don't do phone support (budget!) they're quite
responsive via their ticket system (which I have minor qualms with, fwiw).
Anyone have any bad news about siteground?

Ahhh.

If the last recommendation for low cost hosting came from me,
then it probably suggested things like:

Cheap: siteflip.com
Basic: linksky.com, superuser.net
VPS: rimuhosting.com
Local: ? Peak is where I used to work. I am exploring other local
choices, but there seems to be some serious changes in the
          market.

Drupal: There is a long conversation about a drupal ready hosting service.
It seems that shared drupal sites are less flexible than most
people
who want extra drupal modules want. And so you almost have to
get a VPS or get a colocation/dedicated server of some kind.

Colocation: There was a long conversation on the seattle system admin
list about colocation choices in seattle. I can post it if
            people care.

Free: Google apps for your domain. I am surprised how much you can get
done
on google apps for your domain + google groups.

This is sort of a core dump without research. I should probably go back
and
look up some emails. Is this something people want more details on?
