Thats pretty crusty. I have a couple older laptops that i think are busted. one was a 386 with monochrome LCD display. I think it only has 4m ram, so i never installed linux on it (min 8m for X), but it may still work. I retrofitted an IBM lugable with a pentium 120, 4m video card, Turtle beach sound card, CD burner, ethernet, ... I completly removed the unusable monochrome crt and keyboard. > > ben > > > On 3/27/07, LinuxRocks! <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > >People never bring me perfectly good working computers... they only > >bring me busted ones :( I have laptop build in 1995(came with win3.1), > >and it still works :D > > > >Jamie > > > >On Tue, Mar 27, 2007 at 04:46:05PM -0800, Ralph Zeller wrote: > >> Date: Tue, 27 Mar 2007 16:46:05 -0800 > >> From: Ralph Zeller <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> To: Eugene Unix and Gnu/Linux User Group <[email protected]> > >> Subject: Re: [Eug-lug] testing laptop cooler effectiveness. > >> > >> Ever notice how no one wants to lend their laptop to Jamie? ;) > >> > >> On 03/27/07 03pm, Jamie wrote: > >> > > >> > >From my own pacticl experience I can tell you at CPU is the primary > >> > cause of heat.
