I saw a news story somewhere this morning that they intend to sell these at $200 to residents of developed nations.

Hello,

I am gone next week on a trip. At the last BarCamp planning meeting
in portland, Alex Polvi and Brandon Phillips showed up with some of the
OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) prototypes. Alex suggested that he could
give
a demonstration to the LUG. I dropped a note, but I have not heard
  back.

I am leaving town tonight and will not be able to chase this task any
  further.

Bill.... Can I ask you to try to touch base with Alex and confirm that
he can speak at the LUG meeting.

The normal lug meeting would be on April 3rd at 6:00 in Kelley
  engineering 1007.

Larry Woestman runs the newbie questions session from 6:00 until
  6:30.

At 6:30 we normally have the main talk.

At 8:30 (or so) we normally wander over to American Dream .

I am hoping someone , like Bill, can pick up on this task.

I would be glad to take care of this.

Bill
