I found the pocketmod and thinking rock to be novel approaches to data

of information.

Aside: anyone seen the movie The Fountain Its visual and thought
provoking. It gets a mild recommendation.

Cont: But...I have to acknowledge that I have a mild case of dyslexia and
it has been a life impediment in reading for academics. I have been an A
student; except in English, where it had been C+. Then I got a computer and
I got my first A in College English. Score one for the computer.

My minor point is that I have been a visual learner all of my life and
that can only take you so far academically. I am NOT crying. I've had a
great life and done challenging things: whether its Nuclear Missile siting
in Germany or Topographic Surveying on Pikes Peak, CO; but...fieldwork has
limits also. Mainly associated with age and physical decline.

Aside: A long-time friend and I will be doing an overnight backpacking
trip to the Middle and Upper falls of the Mckenzie River Headwaters,
mid-July, dates flexible, if any one is interested in coming along. This is
highly recommended.

Cont: My main point is that I see a turning point in computer technology
with the introduction of Multi-point input. Ben, I didn't even know what
you were talking about when you brought this up yesterday, but, seeing the
iPhone commercial last weekend I got an intuitive understanding of the
technology.

Last night I read the article about MS's Milan Project, in July's Popular
Mechanics. It seems someone has been very busy! This has caused a me to be
far more enthusiastic about my own engineering education project.

I will now be dropping back into the background, don't mind me if I lurk
till the fall, when I will be bringing far more relevant questions to the
group. This group has been beneficial to me. I hope to return the favor.
So, thanks for putting up with my mucking around.
