I'm using x86_64 on my desktop computer and it works fine. Except for
flash plugin, which doesn't work in 32bits. For this you can use
nspluginwrapper which lets you use 32bits plugins with 64bits firefox :

However it is not 100% stable yet, and sometimes it crash, so you can
also use a 32bits firefox which works fine.
