uninstall sendmail if you are going to use postfix, they do the same
thing and you will be confused as to what is doing what.


Note that it can look like you have sendmail installed even when you don't; there will almost always be something at /usr/sbin/sendmail, for example. If the package tools tell you sendmail is installed though, they are probably correct :-)
