The only "sound card" I possess is an integrated on-board mic-in. It's a 16th inch jack. While I do have an adapter that allows me to plug my guitar cable into a 16th inch socket, some how I think that I'd get less noise from a USB connection. I'm trying to go cheap so I'm looking for a way to "plug" my guitar into my linux box in a way that will come out the speakers when I strum. I was able to do this (before I put in a sound card that is, then this little wonder of my mobo went away) as well as record using Audacity on my windows machine. But as I am trying to make my conversion total, I'd like to try to do the same on this machine.
