Sorry to resurrect this topic, but did anyone end up buying one of the
eeePCs? Used it for any length of time? I'm thinking of getting one
because I'd like to have a device smaller than my 15" notebook, but that
I can still do word processing on (and occassionally surfing and
coding). The price, the size, and the fact that it runs linux are
attracting me - any glaring defects?
(I know it's really small - I'm 5'8" with average hands - can I get used
to the keyboard?)
Thanks,

I was impressed with it... waiting for the company to cough up the dough
and I intend to get one. Also sent a guy from here down to ComputerBase
as he was looking for something like this - he said he really liked it
and wanted to get one, but I don't know if he did or not (yet).
I liked the idea of "easy" mode for someone like my coworker who isn't
very tech savvy, and full KDE for myself. I don't see myself doing much
dev work on it but getting to a shell prompt and decent apps on board
appeal to me too... plus having something like this handy is great for
settling bar bets (google surf)...
I'm almost 6'7" and have above average sized hands - I couldn't touch
type on the thing but it seemed very usable if I just slowed down (I
type pretty fast normally).
Go down there and check it out...
