That's funny. I usually read their reviews for the humor value.
Nothing like seeing a complaint about a joystick because it has
too many buttons.
As with any review you have to keep in mind that a good portion
of the users aren't always as computer literate as they say they
are and there is almost always one person who is either totally
in love with the product or totally hates it.
In any case, never make ANY hard drive your only backup. It has
moving parts, it will fail when you least expect it.
As for WD, well, not my first choice but if it's about cost per
GB then have at it. I'm going to give Seagate my first choice in
External and will only consider replacing my internal drives
with Seagate NS drives.
(disclaimer: I own one WD Raptor but that's mounted at
/usr/local/games for fast access to nothing important)
Also, in case you didn't know, Maxtor is Seagate's value line of
drives. Don't expect the world from them nor expect much outside
of normal use for any of their "A" or "AS" drive (IDE vs SATA)
other than the 5 year warranty.
