It depends a lot on the song being played.
Pop and Rock, there isn't much difference.
Closely mic-ed vocals are troublesome, as well as light cymbals and brush
snares.

A lot of the difference may just come down to bad encoding more than bitrate.
However, the answer to which bitrate is the best is almost always VBR.
