Well, since WoW is Windows software, you are going to have to use some
sort of compatibility layer to make it work in Linux. Using Cedega or
Crossover Games (http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxgames/) will be
substantially easier than "normal" wine. They have everything
"pre-tweaked" to support what WoW needs, whereas wine does not
necessarily.

One thing to check before jumping in there though, that I haven't seen
verified yet, is whether or not you have 3D accelerated drivers
working. Do you know if you do or not? What kind of video card do you
have? One relatively easy way to test that is to install another 3D
game and see if it works. Go to the add/remove tool that Larry
mentioned (or the synaptic tool I mentioned) and look for "nexuiz" or
"tremulous". Both of those are fun 3D first-person shooters that
should work well out of the box if your card is configured right. If
those succeed, you probably have the "groundwork" in order and we can
safely move on to the more specific task of Wine/WoW. Oh, and if you
an RTS fan at all, Glest would be another one to install. It is
reminiscent of Warcraft 3. You might enjoy that too.

Have fun!
