Their carriers pick up the empties when they deliver the fullies, nest them inside their load and take them back to the distribution centers. They use them till they start to rot.? ? Fewer than one in ten thousand distributors does this--and the answer I usually get when I propose this to carriers is, "I don't have time to mess with empty boxes."? ? So most boxes get used once and tossed out. (Recycling is still only a fancy word for throwing something away. It's still considered waste.
