[Sounds like this one will be a fun and informative talk!]

"10 Modern Start-Up Mythconceptions"
John Sechrest

Eugene City Brewery (downstairs)

In a world of rapidly shifting economics and the "Innovation Economy",
people are finding themselves without jobs and searching for
alternatives. With 80% of college graduates expected to move back
home, there are good reasons to want to explore starting new
businesses. In these uncertain times, there may be more job stability
in your own startup.

Some of the greatest barriers to success with startups is the internal
stories that we bring to the business. The assumptions and
expectations that form our decisions can kill a company.

This is a tour of a few of the MythConceptions that might interfere
with a startup... Or perhaps are already interfering with your current
business.

John Sechrest is the founder of the Willamette Angel Conference. He
works with startup companies between Eugene, Corvallis and Seattle. He
is the Economic Development Director for Benton County. John spun PEAK
Internet Services out of Oregon State University. John has also taught
System Administration courses and was active on the SAGE Education
committee in the past.
