I have 2 Nvidia cards and 3 monitors working fine:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G96 [GeForce 9500 GT]
(rev a1)
04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G96 [GeForce 9400 GT]
(rev a1)

01:00.0 0300: 10de:0640 (rev a1)
04:00.0 0300: 10de:0641 (rev a1)

I never edited my xorg.conf by hand.

I have Xinerama enabled through the Nvidia control panel.

I don't recall doing anything special to get things to work.

Good luck.
