[It will come as a surprise to nobody that I will be out of town for next week's meeting... but we've got excellent content lined up!] "Ganeti and the OSUOSL", Lance Albertson 6:30pm Tuesday, October 19th Eugene City Brewery (downstairs)
The OSU Open Source Lab is a world class facility that hosts medium to large high impact open source projects from around the world. They include such projects such as the Linux Foundation, Drupal, Kernel.org, Freenode, and the Apache Software Foundation to name a few. I'll give a short summary of what do and any large projects we're currently working on. Ganeti is a virtualization cluster management software written by Google and used at the OSUOSL. It enables you to manage a cluster of machines using xen or KVM from a single command line interface and easily deploy new virtual machines. The OSUOSL recently switched to using Ganeti with KVM with great success. I'll be going over the basics of Ganeti, how we use it at the OSUOSL, and do some live demos. Lance is the Lead Systems Administrator/Architect for the Oregon State University Open Source Lab (OSUOSL) and a Gentoo Linux Developer. He joined the Gentoo Linux project in 2003 and have been involved in managing their infrastructure and maintaining about a dozen or so packages in portage. Lance manages all of the hosting activities that the OSUOSL provides for the open source community including projects such as Kernel.org, Drupal, Apache Software Foundation, and many many more. Lance has been at the OSUOSL since 2007. _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
