when I type in iwconfig it looks like this

ozlant...@killbox:~$ iwconfig
lo no wireless connections

eth0 no wireless connections

wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:off/any
                 Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=15 dBm
                 Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
                 Power Management:off

but when I do iwlist scanning it tells me that the available connection is Cell
01. what it's address is, the Channel, what the frequency is, the signal
quality, that encryption is on, finds the ESSID, gives me bit rates, and a bit
more crap that I have no idea about.

I've managed to make the ESSID show up as myqwest0345 but still no joy as far
as connecting to the interwebs

Subject: [Eug-lug] still having connection issues with desktop

For some reason I am still having difficulties getting my linux box to connect
to the interwebs. It sees the access point but doesn't seem to want to ship the
info into iwconfig....will provide further info after I boot.
