I am having problems with ubuntu 10.10 release. I have tried
reinstalling the release through the command line and get

w...@kathy:~$ sudo apt-get install update-manager-core

update-manager-core is already the newest version.
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer
required:
  mplayer-skins libpt-1.10.10-plugins-alsa libqt4-core kde-icons-oxygen
  libpt-1.10.10 libavutil-extra-49 libx264-85 libdirectfb-1.2-0 libqt4-gui
  libpulsecore5 python-pysqlite2 libpt-1.10.10-plugins-v4l cpp-4.2
  xul-ext-flashblock
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
