Oh, heck. That's not so old. It should have supported wmv, and certainly can handle facebook. For facebook, just pull up your browser and point it to the facebook URL. http://www.facebook.com/login.php
Wmv is more difficult since I don't know what release you are running. Is it Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat, Suse, or something else? What happens when you run "apt-get update" from the command line? What do you see if you run "cat /etc/issue"? What about "cat /etc/lsb-release"? -- Allen Brown abrown at peak.org http://brown.armoredpenguin.com/~abrown/ Predictions are hard to make, especially about the future. --- Niels Bohr, Nobel Physicist ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan Lunas" <[email protected]> To: "Eugene Unix and Gnu/Linux User Group" <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 1:51:44 PM Subject: [Eug-lug] more infor for WordPerfect and Linux A month or so ago, I posted a question: How do I hold on to my WP 8 on Linux, and yet move into the 21st century -- update the LInux? I absolutely love Linux, and I love WP. The problem is that my current Linux system (KDE??) is old and does not support wmv, or Facebook, or other new computer stuff. People asked specifics about my system so, below I have listed information regarding my WP, LInux etc. Here goes: WP 8.0.0076 6-23-98 OS Linux 2.6.16.13-4-defaulti686 KDE 3.5.1 level "a" CPU Intel Pentium 4 1.70 GHz Ram 1 GB HD 150 GB hard drive Thanks for the help.
