A brief introduction to using PostGIS and other open source mapping tools to deal with geographic data in quantity. I'll be using shapefiles from trimet to illustrate the talk and demonstrate how to write queries against a geographic database. And demonstrating how you can present the same data in a table and a map using some straightforward open source tools.
