I posted this on the IT ProForum list today. I figured I would cross post it just in case some of you where not on that list.
Last Tuesday when Puppet Lab's was down to do the Puppet Talk. There was some talk among some of us who wanted to attend a training session. The idea that was floated around was a group of individuals or more than one person. From different organisations would pool some cash to get some from Puppet Labs down to Eugene to do some formal training. I think the price quoted was $2,000 dollars or one or three days. Anyway I've been in contact with Steve Platman who I think is in charge of setting up these sessions. What he needs to know is how many people and a date. I don't think a location will be a issue because there where three of us who said we could host the training. The cost might be more than $2,000 if more people attend. But I think if we had more than 7 they would work with us and give us a per-person pricing. I think that will be the easiest thing to do that way we don't have one person responsible for collecting payment etc. So I guess all I need now is the following questions answered and a group consensus. 1) Who is interested in training? 2) Who can host? I think somewhere (if possible) everyone can get to. 3) What date or dates would you be available? Please remember that the $2,000 cost estimation is just that. As soon as I get answers etc to the following above questions I can get a hard number. Feel free to contact me off list with the answers. I may cross post this to the EUGLUG mailing list. If you know someone who might be interested in this training opportunity feel free to pass this on. Thanks, Michael Miller
