One cannot expect everything. I have experienced minor failures before, such as upgrading and finding that my touch pad no longer functions properly. I just move on.
What was different this time was an apparently corrupt file on a download mirror ... may be wrong, but downloading from a different mirror seemed to help ... although all of the sums did agree. But regardless ... if it don't run on my box, it don't run on my box. It isn't a big loss as I was/am moving away from Mandriva anyway ... I just wanted to compare one distro's Live CD to the other. At this particular moment in time, I just don't have a spare box for testing, so realizing that some of the bells and whistles will be missing, I am using Live CD's to compare new releases. Thank you for your suggestions Regards Fred James _______________________________________________ EUGLUG mailing list [email protected] http://www.euglug.org/mailman/listinfo/euglug
