This is a brief message to advise you of recent updates to the
Project Apollo Archive at http://www.apolloarchive.com
Today, two additions were made to the "Memorabilia and More" section
of the Archive:
- an "envisioned" Life Magazine cover created by Andrew Chaikin
featuring a depiction of the one of the greatest Apollo photographs
planned, but never shot...one of Apollo 12 astronauts Conrad and Bean
posing together beside the Surveyor spacecraft. Chaikin created this
photo using two actual Apollo 12 photographs, and the results are
fantastic.
- a very nice collection of rare photos contributed by Trevor Blake
and taken by an unknown crewmember of the U.S.S. Okinawa recovery
team during Apollo 15 Command Module recovery operations.
Also, over the past year, over 870 new scans have been added to the
Apollo Image Gallery section of the Archive, so if you have not
visited the Apollo Image Gallery in a while, there are new treats in
store for you there.
