Hi all,
Last year, to kick off SynbioAxlr8r, the team in Cork held a conference called "Synbio Future", which was well attended and had a really great mix of speakers cutting through academia, industry, investment, public representation, and citizen science.

This unusually diverse mix (awesome job Jacob!) lead to great floor debate and a nice cross-talk, and lead to everyone seeing talks that were outside their normal experience. It was great, and we're aiming to accomplish that again this year to kick-off IndieBio Ireland (applications for which are still open for another 9 days: f6s.com/indiebioaccelerator).

So, consider this your invitation to grab a seat for Synbio Future 2015 (Friday March 27th) over at Eventbrite:

http://www.eventbrite.com/e/synbio-future-the-present-and-future-of-biodesign-tickets-15999086699?aff=diybiolist

Our confirmed speakers include some people you'll all immediately recognise:

* Sarah Choukah, entrepreneur of SynbioAxlr8r 2014 and CEO of Hyasynth
* Tito Jankowski, cofounder of Biocurious and co-creator of OpenPCR and OpenQPCR * Thomas Landrain, founder of La Paillasse and globetrotting citizen science advocate

As well as others who round out the areas of Synbio investment, industry, computational design, and regulation. Some of note:

* Sean O'Sullivan, founder/partner at SOSventures
* Bill Liao, founder of SynbioAxlr8r/IndieBio and partner at SOSventures
* Sean Ward, cofounder/CTO of Synthace and co-creator of the Antha lab automation language * Bernadette Murray, Inspector with the Irish Environmental Protection Agency

Looking forward to seeing some of you there and hearing from all of our speakers. If you feel you have a perspective, whether entrepreneurial, artistic, societal, or academic, that would add colour and diversity to the proceedings get in touch off-list. We're going to have a mix of talks, panels, and I'd like to work in a rump-session at the end.

Now, if I may take my hat off a moment, Forma Labs (Cork's Biomakerspace; @formabiolabs, formalabs.org) are also interested in hosting an Unconference the day after; we're not sold on this, but if you're interested then shout. Purely un-conference stuff; just a room, some pizza and drinks, and a big projector. Bring your pet projects, presentations, start-ups, biomakerspace pitches, whatever, and have a good time in our proto-lab in Cork city centre on Saturday 28th. :)

Yours,
Cathal
