We could probably migrate to MoinMoin 1.6.x but I don't really think that it's necessary. In my opinion, the main reason for any upgrade would be the availability of better anti-spam features, not improved linking syntax (which is quite different from MoinMoin 1.5.x and earlier), but we aren't exactly suffering from the same spam problems seen on other public Wikis. The whole image linking issue here happens because we're linking to static images using host-relative URLs, not attachments or images on other sites. This isn't really something I anticipate doing very much, anyway.
