Hi Germán, We'd be happy to share the europython web application with other python conferences ( even more for conferences like yours that manages to keep it free for attendees! ). That's why we decided that we would release it as GPL since we started it. Said that, there are some thing we are concerned about releasing it right now, just because of some technical details. Those details involve 2 parts of the website: the design and the web app. About the first we can share it as it is ( the only thing we ask is that you put some reference to the designer that did that great job and to the Python Italia/Europython association ). The point here is that we can give it to you "as-is" and that can mean many headaches to re-adapt to your needs as it's strongly customized to our needs. The designer who did the job is very under pression with his main job and I'm afraid the time he can spend on this re-adaptation is near abs(0). :(
For the second part, the web application, we have a different problem. This part is still under have development at the moment to integrate it with the administration backend. Also, is far from being an nice package with meaningful documentation, tutorials, and so on. Last thing we still have to clean it up from any europython specific features "hard coded" inside it. So i'm afraid that if we release it at the moment you could blame on us rather the thanking. Even if we really want to share everything I'm afraid It's not the best moment as it's not ready yet. ;) We are wating some answers about this from the main developer of the web app. When I'll receive some other details from him I'll contact you so we can talk about it with the full picture and take reasonable decisions. Ok? all the best, Fabio Pliger 2011/3/4 Germán L.
