Hi This is about scheduling of my talks, but first thanks to the EuroPython organisers for running the voting and getting the results out so soon.
There's an overlap between my training "Objects and classes in Python (and JavaScript)" and Mark Smith's talk "A Deep-Dive Into Python Classes". It might be good if my training preview talk were scheduled immediately after Mark's talk, and in the same room. Or even, if he's agreeable, we could combine forces and share a single longer talk. John Pinner's training "Functional Programming with Python" covers closures, which is a key component in programming JavaScript, and which will also be covered in my training "JavaScript for Python Programmers". It might help if he and I shared a training preview meeting. Just an idea. My regular talk "Browse and print: problems and solutions" (which might be too low in the voting to get in) could be cut from 60 minutes to 45 if that would help the scheduling. In fact, I would prefer that. Finally, I've found that one person giving training to over 20 (which is what JS 4 PY got last time) is hard work for turor and students. Last time I had an assistant, which is a great help. If anyone would like to volunteer as an assistant for the training I give do let me know. (Perhaps other trainers might also welcome assistants.) best regards Jonathan -- The Open University is incorporated by Royal Charter (RC 000391), an exempt charity in England & Wales and a charity registered in Scotland (SC 038302). _______________________________________________ Europython-improve mailing list Europython-improve@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/europython-improve
