Once again, it was a great conference! I really enjoyed myself in Florence,
and want to send again big thanks to the organizers!

After EuroPython is before Europython, so I take the liberty to compliment
on some details, and point out some chances where we can improve in
conferences to come.

- I really liked the food. And, how the restaurant staff managed herding the
Python-cats: sending the eaters up, to fill up the room from the end and NOT
have a blockage at the entrance. Yeah, it would have been nice if we had
tables to sit; but as there was not enough room - it worked.

- thanks to the organizers who managed that we got Espresso after lunch. The
coffee out of the dispensers was not really a joy, so compliments for acting
on demand and getting something tasty!

- It was a really nice gesture to have water in all the rooms.

- the open air open space was something to remember! But I guess you have to
be Florence, Italy to dare this ...

- I really liked the reception. The fine dressed hostesses with their very
friendly smiles made it a joy to register. It was allways somebody present
to ask; and they were allways helpfull to find somebody or point to somebody
who solved the little problems. Great!

Some thoughts on possible improvements:

- I would love to have more space for lightning talks. It is really a chance
to learn a lot of different aspects, especially about topics I only find
mildly interesting. But I can allways deal with 5 minutes of exposure; and I
learned a lot in fields I did not dare to touch :)

- I recommend to cut down the teaser-talks for trainings to 5 or 10 minutes.
45 minutes is not a teaser anymore, that is a full meal (at least in other
countries :) , and I dare not to make other tease-and-xxx-jokes)

- In some of the rooms the PA was missadjusted. I felt it when I went tired
after focussing only for minutes, and I tested it. How to make sure the PA
is adjusted correctly? a simple receipt: get a blindfold, then the speaker
shall stand at various points of the stage (left, center, right), use the
microphone to speak. The blindfolded-one shall be in the last third of the
room. If the PA is adjusted correctly, he shall easily be able to point to
the speaker just from the sound direction. If it takes effort, something is
wrong (the PA needs to adjust for the positioning of the speakers, to make
sure the direct sound waves of the same event from the mouth of the speaker,
and the corresponding sound waves from the speakers hit the listener at the
same moment).

- I suggest to think about "starting every day together", as in having
sketches / lightningtalks / announcements / raffles / similiar for everyone
in the first slot in the morning. I found myself drifting into being some
minutes late for the first talk, which is not nice to the speaker.

I am volunteering to MC that (and other stuff), i.e. in "warming up the
crowd" in the morning, so that only one person (=me) has to suffer with
participants trickling in slowly.

Thanks again for a wonderfull conference,

Harald
