I like the idea of collage -- certainly the current Python logo (twin snakes, Mayan flavor -- or is that Incan?) would look right at home in some Euro context (it comes from the Netherlands after all, just like New Amsterdam -- only later New York).
I somewhat like the idea of a logo branding *a conference* more than the idea of Europython in the abstract. Something more Vilnius in tone, a python entwined in a glass ship or something. As the conference moves about, the logo could be refreshed each time, always with some local color, just an idea. Given the new Python logo already anchors the official website, I feel like permanent branding of the Pycon series is likewise unnecessary, in terms of insignia or decals (calling Pycon is likely a keeper).
