Electric Vehicle Charging Station Grants: On April 9, 2002,
the Board approved two grants for public electric vehicle
charging stations.
The City of Ojai was awarded $5,000 toward the construction
of a public electric vehicle charging station at the
downtown Ojai Park n Ride Lot.
Toyota of Oxnard was awarded $6,072 for a public electric
vehicle charging station at their Oxnard dealership.
Both stations will offer free charging to electric vehicle
users. Currently, Toyota of Oxnard is leasing the new 2002
RAV4 EV and a $9,000 state incentive is still available.
