There are several formats that could work.

I put together a gallery  page from a trip we took last year. It can viewed
at http://www.sandmaps.com/gallery.htm. There are several photo/text pages
and also some video clips. The gallery page is just an index page while the
media material is linked. You can look at what you want and ignore the rest.

The video is over compressed and very blocky.
The sound did not work during the download process.
The video can be twice the resolution of the still pictures but will use 8
Meg per second. A 60 second clip eats up almost half a Gig uncompressed.
