EV Global Motors has announced a recall of
the Lithium batteries and chargers used with their
Folding Mini E-Bikes equipped with lithium batteries,
following four incidents in which lithium batteries
have overheated and caught fire during a charge.
EV Global has posted a recall notice on their Web
site at:

http://www.evglobal.com/safety_recall_notice.htm

Owners of these folding bikes are being contacted
by EV Global and are being urged to return their
lithium batteries and chargers to the company for
free repair or replacement. If you have one of these
bikes equipped with a lithium battery and have not
yet heard from the company, you are urged NOT to
recharge your lithium battery, but to contact EV
Global at 888-875-4545 during normal West Coast
business hours to make suitable arrangements.

We have learned of this through E-bike dealers
in our area during a recent EVA/DC meeting in
which Lithium battery developments were
discussed. Neither EVA/DC nor Program
Development Associates has any connection
or involvement with EV Global Motors or with
Lee Iacocca, and we believe that the company
is acting responsibly to correct this problem.

    Regards,

    Dave Goldstein
    President, EVA/DC and
    Program Development Associates
