[I hope someone corrects me if I get these switched around ...]

EVparts brought some Ecycles for Woodburn attendees to try out.
I asked them to bring them to the Silicon Valley Rally on
Sept 21st at Stanford U. (see http://eaasv.org *** in 2 weeks).

I was offered to ride two different Escooters. Both had their
advantages.

One I believe was the Ego had good acceleration, balance,
and a nice aggressive regen. One could also not completely
let the accelerator grip all the way back and the Escooter
would coast.

The other had more of a look and feel of an ICE scooter
(?vespa copy?), with good acceleration, but no discernible
regen (coasts well). I was told this one was made in China
and was quoted that it can go 40 mph, and it had a 40 mile
range.

Like most EV products, I would want to prove what range
one gets at 40 mph (people are going to ride them full
out). The charger takes 6 hours, so I guess it is a 600w
charger. Of course I would like to see the option to have
the highest charging possible onboard (like a 1.2kw).

Both Escooters had good brakes, and low center of gravity.
I preferred the first as it had the regen and a slightly
better balanced feel (when braking, turning, or swerving
at high speed - checking for plow, loss of traction, or
fish-tailing).

I encourage others who have rode these Escooters to also
POST their experiences and
*** I hope to see them at the Silicon Valley Rally
    http://eaasv.org in two weeks.
