The 'EV option' is the additional input filtering on the E-Meter power lead to allow it to cope with the noise generated by the PWM controller in an EV. If you search the list archives, you will find a post from Lee Hart containing an ASCII schematic of exactly what this circuit consists of, should you wish to add it externally to an E-Meter/Link-10 that didn't have the option installed at the factory.
