US Battery will sell directly to EV hobbyists. They can arrange for you to
pick them up at an Interstate dealer (their golf car batteries are sold under the
"Interstate Workaholic" label), or ship them directly to you if you pay for
shipping.
USBMC will tell you up front that their 12 volt marine batteries are NOT ideal
for road EVs. All of Lee Hart's cautions apply. Not having actually used
them in an EV, I don't know for sure how they compare to the Trojans. But I
believe they are appreciably less costly, and they might be more long-lived
than the JC batteries.
