Thanks Rod, I guess I'll start this one from the bottom. I'm trying to build the fastest hybrid in the world. :-) I absolutely love my Insight, except for one thing, its too slow! I want to make it faster without hurting its gas mileage. It makes the most sense to me to do this with the electric side of things. I've played around with the idea of replacing the motor controller with a larger one and a bigger battery pack, but I worry about the difficulties in mating it to the rest of the car's computers. I just picked up an extra IMA assembly (the battery pack and control modules from the rear) on eBay, and I'm wondering now if I could split the signal coming from the car at some point and have it go into both the original controller and a new "piggybacked" controller to double the current into the motor. Since this controller is exactly the same as the one already in the car it'll understand the same signals and should respond the same way. Given the insight (hah hah, funny pun) that you've given I can clearly see that no matter how I do it, this is going to be a very complicated project. Anyone want to help out? :-) Later, Matt -- Composed on "Ti", my Titanium PowerBook G4. Transported by my as yet unnamed '01 Monte Carlo Blue Honda Insight #1898 Life is good, thank the Lord!
