Some folks here may know that Keith Bradsher, Detroit bureau chief of The New York
Times from 1996 to 2001, has written a book entitled "High and Mighty: SUVs - The
World's Most Dangerous Vehicles and How They Got That Way."
Bradsher was interviewed today on the public radio program "Fresh Air." He discussed
various concerns, including overall safety, emissions, fuel efficiency, and SUVs'
propensity to rollover in accidents (which one could argue is mitigated by properly
converting them to EVs).
I've posted this excerpt as a Real Audio file. Although it's not directly connected
to
EVs, some here may be interested in hearing it. Point your browser to:

It's about 26 minutes long. You'll need to have a recent version of the Real Audio
player installed (it was encoded at 16kbps with Real Producer 7).
