Technically there is a generator connected to the wheels of every EV.  Any
voltage at the motor, greater then that which can be accounted for by
(current * series resistance) is being generated by the motor.  Guess that
would be more difficult to explain then, you can't get something for
nothing.

yeah, I get the rain question too, plus these other gems.  these are
REAL questions that people have asked me:

After looking the truck over:  "So where's the engine?"
Seeing the truck on display at a school:  "Does it work?"
Annoying as heck Solar Misconceptions (SMs):  "If there's no solar
panel, how can it go?"
Of course, no demonstration would be complete without the generator on
the wheels question  =)
