Mike Slomiski had a box full of failed Curtis potboxes from customers cars. I had to rebuild a Curtis 'Organ pedal' where the carbon track pot had worn right through. I've just built a couple of potboxes for my projects. I used a Spectrol conductive plastic rotary sensor (Mfr. Pt. No. 971-0002) from Farnell electronics. Track 5K Electrical rotation 105 degree Mechanical rotation 130 degree Internal spring biasing Operation via 'D' shaped shaft 5 million operation cycles. It's actually intended for this sort of application and costs approx. 15 (US$22.50). Paul Compton BVS technical officer www.bvs.org.uk www.sciroccoev.co.uk
