Actually, I don't take the Boeing Freeway. I stay on the Mukilteo Speedway, so I avoid that chunk of 12% grade. Then it's only slightly uphill for several miles, then down a Long Steep hill (164th st between 99 and I-5) If I coast and catch the lights, I'll hit 60mph on this one!, then up a short steep hill to cross I-5. >This is yet another reason to get >those Sparrows using AC drive in addition to mitigating the issue of the >single-speed reduction. I've actually thought about getting one of Victors smallest drive units. If I was spending that much on my Sparrow, I'd also switch the rear end to a motorcycle shaft drive instead of this damn noisy belt. >I think it would be interesting to try the Evercels in your Sparrow. That's the major reason to HAVE a Sparrow around here. Frankly, if I could get a gas engine that would fit, I'd use it. If a vehicle doesn't qualify as a motorcycle, it's completely useless for my commute. -- John G.
