What a surprise.  There have been one or two *very* promising
Lithium-whatever battery announcements made recently, particularly the
Hydro Quebec announcement, over which the Detroiters would seem to
have ZERO control, so now they're anxious to get going looking into
Li-whatever.  Wouldn't want to be left behind.  

Someday, dozens of thousands of US auto workers may be able to count
themselves out of work partly relating to these half-efforts in
battery research.
