There have been and are plenty of newswires on this noisy-EV topic.
Because evdl members lost interest, I stopped posting them.

It was several Automakers that thumbed their nose to noisy EVs laws,
that they were not going to bother with it. But it really seems there
are forces in place to waste our lawmakers time with this topic rather
than working on more important issues (which is an OT politico-point not
to be discussed on the evdl).

Yet, the tug of war still continues.
Automakers that really do not want to spend time or money this, and the
majority of the public that know thing on this point and would be
surprised as why so much time is being spent on it, vs a very vocal few
want to change EVs for a minority that won't hear any difference because
of all the existing noisy ice around them, yet the quiet ice do not have
to be made noisy (!?!), and conservative forces that want to use this
topic as another politico-football.

You know it could be that even though the paid-off lawmakers OK a bill
to add noise to quiet EVs, buyers will either defeat or reduce the
volume so that driving a plugin remains as pleasant as it should be.

While that sounds illegal (it is), so are all the parking in an EV spot
without plugging in, moving a coupler from one plugin to another, and a
whole other myriad of other laws GM pushed to put on the books, that law
enforcers know nothing of, and are not going to enforce because it is
not part of their SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
:Are we having fun yet?:
