Too small to read, but it certainly uses bipolar transistors.

It's getting old but the insides still look very clean. I imagine I
should worry about the electrolytic caps being dried out but I think
I'm just going to let it ride.

If the electrolytics fail, they are likely to destroy the rest of the controller. It may be cheap insurance to replace them first. They are the least reliable part of the controller.
