Typically, Ethernet is used for this.
For a few bucks you get a media converter from twisted pair 100 Base-T
Ethernet to fiber 100 Base-FX
If you need to embed into a product then you may need to find the
actual optical driver and interface, otherwise you can buy the
converter in a box for a few bucks on Ebay.

Subject: [EVDL] VCO or PSK IC for high speed communication

This is slightly off topic so don't reply to the list.

I wanted to ask the gurus on here if they know of any simple AC
modulation
ICs. I need to transmit a 1Mbps intermittent digital signal over a
100Mbps
fiber transceiver. The fiber transceiver has a high pass input on it's
receiver so I need to encode my intermittent message on a carrier wave
of
some sort. Continuously transmitting the message is not an option.

So any PSK or VCO chips out there that operate in the 100MHz region? I
also
need a decoder chip on the receiver end of course.

Thanks
