The Synkromotive is a nice controller with the added benefit of it
being air cooled. Ives is excellent to work with. We installed an early
version in the LCC pickup conversion we did. It would do quite well in
your pickup. There is also excellent software for monitoring many
parameters in real time.

Feel free to call me if you want more of my take on it. I think you
still have my number.

Well, I am past the initial get on the rode phase with this truck. I
live close to John Wayland and I've always envisioned this as my
version of Blue Meanie. Something I hold onto over the years that
goes through several transformations until it is everything I always
wanted it to be... so I am probably going to hold out until I can
afford a Zilla which hopefully will not be to long. It's tempting to
just replace it right away with something that will get me back on the
road... but I should just put the controller in there that I really
want. It's not a done deal yet though. I am in touch with the
Synkromotive guys as well since they are local. I'm going to go take
a ride in their test truck and see what I think about their
controller, but it is only a few hundred cheaper than the Zilla 1K low
voltage model that I am eyeballing... I did recently redo the
interior which I am quite pleased with, so getting the right
controller in there will be one more step forward. Nex
t up will be lithium batteries. No firm plans after that, but I
would imagine I will put a larger motor in some day, and perhaps an
air ride system... by then it will be time to repaint again etc..
etc... etc... I seriously considered getting out of the DIY scene and
just buying a Leaf or something, but then I started working on and
driving my truck again and I realized it is a lot more too me than
just an eco friendly mode of transportation :)
No, not far from home at all, just 6 feet out of my driveway LOL! I
backed it out into the cul-de-sac to shuffle cars around and when I
hopped back in I didn't use the clutch, just tapped the accelerator
real quick and that was the end.

Well it sounds like it didnt
