OK, for those that think Bruce is way-too persnickety pointing out which
vehicle is EV and which is a plugin-hybrid pih/phev, etc. for fear that
the public will continue to be confused over it all, take a look at

Unless the writer does not know the subject nor read their own copy
before submitting it, why would they call the Tesla-S a hybrid?

So who is already tied of the current Leaf EV TV ad?
http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7Izw/2013-nissan-leaf-facts

I am ready/up for a different one to be broadcast.

Today's advertising is a different beast than from the past. There is
fierce competition to keep the attention of the viewer by constantly
changing what is shown. An advertiser may have three of four commercials
that get rotated through.

As a child of the late 1950's, TV was a new experience. Back in those
pre-Silicon Valley days, there were only a couple TV stations and they
were not broadcasting 24 hours a day like today. It was easy to
get-away-with showing the same ol' TV commercial over a long period of
time.

Today, that does not work. To compete with the non-plugin vehicle
commercials, the plugin commercials also have to be varied to keep it
interesting (else, the viewer with tune-out).

If you are a TV commercial aficionado, then you may remember an ad that
was shown initially in its entirety. Then later, either in the same
program, or at a later time, a modified/edited form of the same
commercial would be shown. For some, they would see the commercial had
changed, and mentally remember it more.

I understand TV commercials are not cheap. It costs the company to
create them. But there are other ways of using the same footage in
different ways of the same commercial to mix-it-up, and keep it varied,
yet keeping the costs lower.

I have seen the Leaf EV and the Volt pih TV commercials. Not so many
Volt ads lately though. Hmm, I wonder if GM is queuing for a Chevy Spark
Electric campaign when they are launched this summer?.

Anyone else seen these or has anyone seen other ads for say: iMiev,
Focus Electric, Fit EV, BMW Active-e, Smart ED, RAV4-EV, or any of the
compliance cars?
