This Month's Meeting: Open EVSE Charging Station Build Day
Saturday, May 18, 2013 (3rd Saturday) 10 am to 1 pm. Meeting Location: O'Connell Volvo, 1537 Webster St., Alameda, CA Visitors welcome, open to the public. We have had a slight change of venue for the Open EVSE Build Day on May 18th. We will be meeting at the West End of Alameda at: O'Connell Volvo, 1537 Webster Street in Alameda. To enter the workshop (located at the back of the venue), you need to enter from Lincoln Ave, two driveways north of Webster Street and go all the way towards the back of the parking lot behind the Chinese food place on Webster. The change in venue was needed in case the Build Day ran a little long. Mr. O'Connell has graciously offered for us to be in his workshop area for as long as we need, from 10 AM to about 1 PM. We have 9 builders lined up for this Northern California Build Day on May 18th. The builders will be divided into three groups of three doing specific sections of the OpenEVSE, then moving to the next stage: (1) LCD / button, (2) AC / J1772 cable, and (3) EVSE / Relay. Observers/helpers are welcome to the Build Day as well - Feel free to invite people, as there is plenty of room in the workshop - we had one meeting there last year during a meeting about Electric Outboard Engines - the boat was in the shop as well! If anyone needs to charge while we are at the meeting, we have a charging station located about three blocks from the new venue - just let us know.
